For instance, take my Jeep, AMC never made a high performance cam, lifters, carb, water pump, heads, etc. It took an aftermarket performance parts manufacturer such as Edelbrock to take the initiative. And I guarantee you the engine in my jeep will/has far out-performed the same stock engine in other Jeeps of equal footing.
